Eli Reling Hits the Mat at State Wrestling

Senior Eli Reling competed in the Kansas State High School Activities Association 3-2-1A State Wrestling Tournament on Friday, February 22 in Hays at Gross Memorial Coliseum. Reling competed in the 132 pound weight class.
In the first match, Reling took a fall in the second period to Colby Schreiner. Schreiner came into the match with a 25-1 record. Reling them moved to the back side of the bracket. Reling had his second match against Billy Sales of Council Grove. Sales came into the match with a 29-3 win-loss record. Reling took a fall to Sales at 0:59 seconds.
“Although it didn’t end as I hoped, I’m thankful for the opportunity to have wrestled with such great coaches and teammates,” added Reling.
This was Reling’s last tournament of the year ending his senior season 10-8 for the year.
