Sophomore Millie Brown Travels to State Piano

Millie Brown, a sophomore at Quinter High School, earned a II rating at the State Piano Contest on Saturday, February 16. The State Piano Music Festival, hosted through the Kansas State High School Activities Association, is held at Wichita State University.
To qualify for State Piano, Brown competed at the Regional Piano Festival on February 2 in Hays. There, she received a I rating, which is the highest rating that can be earned.
Brown played “Fantasy in D Minor” by Mozart. The piece requires much work as it extends over several minutes.
Brown thoroughly enjoyed her time and felt that it was a learning experience, saying “State piano is always a good experience, and I’m so glad I got to go.”
