Junior High Boys A-Team Compete in NWKL Tournament

On Thursday, December 13 and Saturday, December 15 the Quinter Junior High School A-Team boys’ basketball team placed third in the Northwest Kansas League Tournament in Oberlin. The Bulldogs competed against the Rawlins County Buffaloes, winning 57-39.  They met the Hoxie Indians in the semifinals and lost .

In the first quarter against the Buffaloes the Bulldogs scored 16 points The Buffs scored 10 points against the Bulldogs’ defense to leave the score 10-16. In the second quarter the Bulldogs scored 17 points against the Buffs while the Buffs only managed to score 13 points. Heading into halftime the Bulldogs led 33-23. In the third quarter Preston Havlas scored five out of the 11 points for the Bulldogs while the Bulldog defense held the Buffs to seven points to extend their lead to 44-30. In the fourth and final quarter the Bulldogs scored 13 points while the Buffaloes only managed to score nine. The Bulldogs pulled off a 57-39 win over the Buffaloes.

 

The Bulldogs will be in action again on Monday, January 14. The Bulldogs will travel south to compete against Ness City Sacred Heart with games beginning at 4:00 p.m.
