Sports Information Meeting and 7th Grade Orientation Scheduled For August 10th
On Thursday, August 10, 2017, Quinter Junior Senior High School will conduct a Parent/Student-Athlete Sports Information Meeting. Attendance at this meeting is required of parent(s) and their student(s) in grades 7-12 who plan to participate in any athletic event. During this meeting, parents and student-athletes will watch a state required video on concussion injuries. Following the video, local medical doctors will administer a very brief Standardized Assessment of Concussion (SAC) Test. This pre-concussion test is beneficial in helping coaches identify and doctors diagnose concussions obtained during athletic events. Time during the meeting will also be used to discuss school district expectations for student-athletes, parents and spectators. Fall sport coaches may have their parent meeting on this night as well.
Prior to the Sports Information Meeting, there will be a meeting for parents of incoming seventh graders. The seventh grade class sponsor will conduct this meeting. During the meeting, the sponsor will share information with parents to help make the transition from elementary to junior high school smoother for their student.
